Sacramental Life

. Posted in News

SLcoverThis journal is published four times a year. It is designed to provide theologically sound reports of developments from across the church-at-large. Rather than have a theoretical or scholarly approach, the articles and liturgical aids have been practically proven and have grown out of the experiences of people "in the trenches."

Much (most!) of the content of Sacramental Life comes from submissions by the members of the Order. Submissions are welcomed from any source. If you feel led to write, or have a work that might be appropriate for submission, check the writer's guidelines below and sample a few example articles below.

Subscriptions to Sacramental Life are gratis to members of the Order.

Read the Writer's Guidelines here.

And you can get a feel for the quality and style by reading samples of past submissions to Sacramental Life.

Wisdom's Dwelling Place by Jill Y. Crainshaw

ISBN-13: 978-1878009661

 $19.95 retail

". . . Perhaps the ancient sages got it right. They believed that everyday life engenders knowledge about God because everyday life is rich with God's presence. Everyday practicalities, insist Wisdom writers, are robustly theological.  Rooted in scripture, shaped by diverse traditions, embodied in human experiences, and aimed toward transforming the world through redeemed and redeeming actions, wisdom-based liturgies can and do become God's dwelling places."

The author, Jill Y. Crainshaw, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Ministry Studies at the Wake Forest University School of Divinity, is President of the North American Academy of Liturgy.
